Lakewood Welcomed LASA's Next Stage
LASA just completed groundbreaking on Gravelly Lake Commons - 26 units of affordable 2- and 3-bedroom apartments.
Present at the groundbreaking were a number of people who have contributed to the success of this project, as well as community members who have helped us grow.
We want to thank all the people who make our work possible. We can't do what we do without the support of our neighbors in the community. This has been a difficult year for our neighbors, and the community pulled out all the stops helping with our Christmas drive. The response to our Christmas boxes and flyers was overwhelming, and we thank each and every one of you, and our sponsors below, for this. Christmas for our families has been so successful, with every family member getting presents, from parents down to infants. Thanks to Holiday Stockings for Homeless Children, every child received a fully stuffed stocking, presents, and new clothing. Parents received both useful household goods and a few fun items. Winter coats were handed out and meals were donated and dispersed.
All of our sponsors are amazing, but we'd like to add a special welcome to BMW Northwest, who filled an entire SUV with gifts, and CalPortland, who filled the LASA van and donated three brand new bikes! We look forward to working with them in the future.
